Our Pastor
Pastor Naomi Tyler-Lloyd
came to understand early in her formation that a relationship with God promoted a relationship with humanity, and that education was both a privilege and a responsibility. As a result, she earned a BA in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an MSEd in Rehabilitation Counseling from Hunter College.
Her training enabled her to work in a variety of venues in the counseling field for more than ten years. Pastor Tyler-Lloyd also served as adjunct faculty in the department of Social Sciences at the College of New Rochelle School of New Resources as well as in the Department of Educational Foundations and Counseling Programs at Hunter College Graduate School.
In 1996 Pastor Tyler-Lloyd accepted God’s call on her life to the gospel ministry and responded by enrolling in Duke University Divinity School in 1998, to pursue the Master of Divinity degree. In 1999 she was licensed by the Trinity Baptist Church, to preach the gospel. In October 2001 she was the last minister to be ordained by the late Pastor Nathaniel Tyler-Lloyd at Trinity Church in conjunction with the American Baptist Churches. In 2004 Trinity Church called her to serve as their Interim Pastor and in May 2005 she was elected Pastor, thereby beginning the relationship of “Pastor Nā & people” on Oct 1st. In May 2014 the Doctor of Ministry degree was conferred upon her by the Chicago Theological Seminary, Chicago, IL.
Pastor Naomi has been involved with Baptist World Alliance (BWA) in many capacities since the mid-nineties. She led Trinity to become a charter “Global Impact Church”, and she has been a vice-president in both the Youth Department and later the general body. Pastor Nā has served on various BWA committees and currently she is vice-chair of its Membership Committee.
Pastor Naomi continues to teach and preach the gospel both here and abroad.
